O Espaço Cultural INC Pátio Batel será inaugurado oficialmente no dia 9 de outubro com a exposição A Arte da Medicina, que mescla essas duas áreas, pois antes dos recursos cirúrgicos por meio de imagens e vídeos, os sintomas e o diagnóstico eram retratados, muitas vezes, com esculturas e quadros. O evento é fruto da parceria entre o historiador Marcos Araújo e o neurocirurgião Maurício Coelho Neto, curadores da exposição que traz reproduções de obras icônicas de Frida e Michelangelo.
Araújo conta que sempre discutiu com Maurício sobre os aspectos que envolvem história, arte e medicina. E para esse momento, realizaram um estudo sobre a história da arte e sua aproximação com a medicina em cada período de quadros escolhidos. “Por ser exposta em um lugar de doença e tensão natural, que é o hospital, as obras não poderiam ser estressantes, nem atrapalhar o trabalho médico importante do dia-a-dia”, complementa Coelho Neto, que atende na Sede INC Ecoville, local que também contará com o desdobramento da exposição.
Na avaliação dos curadores, a importância da exposição é seu potencial educativo, pois mostra como as doenças e a busca pela cura desses transtornos estão entrelaçadas nas sociedades há eras e como a arte representa a inserção da relação entre médico e paciente. “Isso nos ensina sobre nós mesmos, a ciência e a arte; é a capacidade de representar as coisas do mundo”, completa Araújo.
